Overview
Taper (“we,” “us”) operates taper.ink and related services that help professionals publish a personal site and an AI advocate trained on content they upload. This policy describes what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data from Clerk (email, name, authentication identifiers).
- Content you upload or link (résumés, portfolios, writing, URLs) to build your profile and advocate.
- Site configuration, billing tier, and dashboard usage needed to operate the product.
- Visitor chat logs on your public site (questions, answers, basic metadata) to power analytics and FAQ generation.
- Optional product analytics on the marketing site and app chrome (page views, CTA clicks, onboarding steps) when you accept analytics cookies.
- Payment information processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve the Taper platform.
- Generate your mirror profile, public site, and cited advocate responses.
- Process subscriptions and send transactional messages.
- Understand marketing-site usage and funnel conversion (only with analytics consent).
- Comply with law and prevent abuse.
Sharing
We use subprocessors (AWS, Clerk, Stripe, PostHog for optional product analytics, and model providers such as Amazon Bedrock) to run the service. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the platform.
Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies support sign-in and core functionality. Optional analytics cookies (PostHog) load on the marketing site and app chrome only after you accept them in the consent banner. You can decline analytics cookies; the product continues to work without them. Creator personal sites use a separate essential-cookie notice and do not load PostHog from this chrome integration.
Your choices
You can update or delete content from your dashboard, cancel your subscription, or contact us to request account deletion. Public sites and chat features stop when you remove content or close your account, subject to reasonable backup retention. To change analytics cookie preference later, clear site data for taper.ink or contact us.
